The Bay. Exclusive one-to-one therapeutic retreats

FAQs - About Your Program

Can I do the program with my significant other/loved ones?

Each situation is assessed on an individual basis depending on the purpose of your retreat. Our Couples, Rejuvenation, Meditation and Reconnection Retreats can all be structured for two people to attend. For our Addiction Recovery Retreats it is likely that your partner/significant other can be involved in a part of your retreat where it supports your therapeutic process. In some cases we may recommend that you participate individually in your program to ensure the maximum benefit to you. If this is the case, we will facilitate contact with your loved ones, in a context that is beneficial to your process.

Can I have visitors?

We see the restoration and development of healthy and fulfilling relationships as vital to your wellbeing and recovery. However, The Bay does offer a unique opportunity for a therapeutic retreat and casual visits may distract your process. If some contact with a significant other is identified as beneficial for your process, you and your therapist would arrange the timing and content of the visit together.

Can I bring my children?

To best maintain the focus on your process and for the wellbeing of the child, under most circumstances this is not recommended.

Does "24 hour care" mean I'll never be alone?

24-hour care means there will always be a member of our staff present in the residence, or with you when going on outings. All staff members are sensitive and trained to support your process while offering maximum privacy and space, so that you can relax in what will be your home environment for this time.

Will I have fun in my program?

Yes! Your program will be designed to include relaxation time and recreation activities of your choice. Our aim is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible while you address the issues that brought you here. A goal of attending a retreat program can be about making positive changes to your current way of living. To this end, it may be important to experience new healthier forms of entertainment or recreation. The local area offers many options to try something you’ve always dreamed about, or to get back into an activity you once loved.
