Family Support
Often the effects of challenges in your life, such as addiction, stress or trauma, extend to those who support and surround you. Throughout your recovery process, The Bay recognises the care that these networks provide for you. We understand that these significant people in your life may have also experienced pain, stress and uncertainty around your journey. Our approach, which upholds your absolute confidentiality and privacy at all times, is tailored to meet the unique needs of you and those supporting you.
Family and support networks can play a crucial role in continuing recovery. Part of your healing process at The Bay may require these networks to heal. Your clinical team will work with you, if appropriate, to liaise with your family so that you have optimal connection with significant people in your life during your time at The Bay. We can work with those close to you to debrief them, addressing their feelings around your process and assist in the preparation for your transition home. If further therapeutic support is necessary, we recommend your family to appropriate practitioners in their local area.
In this way, care for your support networks is built into your tailored program as required. The range of options may include education and support, telephone or email contact, sourcing referrals if therapy is required, referral to family support groups, or a therapist from The Bay coming to meet your family. Recovery is an ongoing journey. If you choose, The Bay will offer continued support to you and those close to you.
